Connect to CanMesh
Three ways in, all landing on the same network.
LoRa (915 MHz)
If you have a SenseCAP Solar Node P1 flashed with Hopspot firmware, it connects to the mesh automatically at 915 MHz. Other LoRa nodes within range will discover each other through Reticulum announces.
Every radio must match the 915 MHz profile exactly. No other configuration needed — the Hopspot firmware auto-configures the radio.
TCP (over the internet)
A public CanMesh backbone is planned for canmesh.ca:4242.
Until it's live, you can connect to the
ScotMesh backbone
for testing:
[[ScotMesh Backbone]] type = TCPClientInterface enabled = yes target_host = rns.scotmesh.net target_port = 4242
Add this to the [interfaces] section of ~/.reticulum/config, then restart Reticulum.
I2P (behind CGNAT or firewall)
If you're behind CGNAT or a firewall you don't control, use I2P instead:
[[ScotMesh I2P]] type = I2PInterface enabled = yes peers = a3pswrtvpuro62ijhb7lwdt2n6aqgajglof27ynbonynmolzlz7q.b32.i2p
Needs i2pd with SAMv3 (apt install i2pd). Give it a few minutes — I2P builds tunnels before the interface comes up.
Apps
Once connected, use any Reticulum client:
| App | Platforms | Use |
|---|---|---|
| MeshChatX | Win, macOS, Linux, Android | Messaging, files, voice, pages |
| Sideband | Android, Win, macOS, Linux | LXMF messaging |
| Nomad Network | Linux, macOS | Pages, chat, files |
After connecting
Check your interface is up:
rnstatus
See discovered paths:
rnpath --table
Or with prnsd:
~/.local/bin/prnsd status ~/.local/bin/prnsd path --table
